Netwealth is aimed at creating a diverse and inclusive environment to create a brighter future for all staff. When our staff feel supported to bring their whole self to work and have the flexibility to balance their family caring and work commitments, they can thrive and reach their full potential.
Our diverse workforce is our biggest asset and having an inclusive and agile workplace allows us to embrace diversity and continue to strengthen our support for families, allowing us to attract, develop and retain the best people. It allows our people to be agile, collaborative, curious and courageous while we continue to grow and be a market leader in the wealth management space.
Netwealth are committed to a family friendly workplace to strengthen our culture and maintain high employee engagement and satisfaction whilst still retaining high performance. We understand that balancing career and family responsibilities comes with joys and challenges, so we seek to create a supportive, caring, flexible and inclusive workplace for families, where our people can integrate work and family life whilst managing their wellbeing.
We are looking to play a role in shifting gender equality and breaking stereotypes and barriers, through supporting working families and empowering and providing men with access to caring responsibilities such as parental leave. In addition, we are continuing to improve and enhance our existing policies and initiatives to better support those employees with caring responsibilities to have a sustainable work life balance, by implementing best workplace practices that acknowledge the diverse needs of our workforce
The pandemic created a shift in the traditional workplace practices Netwealth had in place. It enabled us to enhance our workplace practices and create an agile and flexible working environment, whilst providing additional resources, which included:
Parental leave
One of the key benefits we have seen is engagement in wellbeing initiatives over the past 12 months. Our steady retention rates are attributed to increased development opportunities, an overhaul of our parental leave policy (which has seen an increase in males taking leave for longer) and enhancing our benefits, e.g hybrid work practices. Our Executive understand that life changes when you become a parent or carer. This is why we have updated and enhanced our policies and implemented best practices to ensure we have the best available support for our people.
With our family friendly initiatives, we can empower, reward and develop our people, by providing the freedom to be innovative and the ability to work flexibly and providing many benefits for all those in the organisation.
Nathan O’Mara, Senior Product Owner
Father of 2, Nathan O’Mara, shares his experience working with Netwealth.
“Having a family friendly workplace reduces the stresses associated with caring responsibilities. Over my time at Netwealth, the Board, the Executive and People & Culture team have continually evolved and improved the support afforded to those with caring responsibilities. Being a family established and owned business, the culture at Netwealth is very focused on providing support and flexibility, and giving people the time and resources to assist with caring responsibilities.
Whether it be flexible working hours, paid parental leave, or the in-house childcare on school holidays, Netwealth is proactive about being a family friendly workplace. These formal structures and support mechanisms are backed by a family friendly culture which has led to a staff-led Carers group which meets weekly and provides support and resources to those in need.”
"At Netwealth, we know that our greatest asset is our people, and that the diversity of our people is our biggest strength, being a family friendly workplace is critical to that. As a father with 3 young kids including 4 y.o. twins I understand firsthand the challenges families face and the importance of flexibility. Becoming a family friendly accredited workplace means an ongoing commitment to our staff to continue to drive, empower and build practical workplace initiatives that can assist them in their work/life balance. We appreciate that each family at Netwealth has a different set of circumstances and needs, and all deserve a family friendly workplace. Our family friendly practices create innovation, flexibility, and development opportunities to ensure that we are able to build a brighter future together."
