No. The standards are built upon specific criteria which together, form each guiding standard. Within these criteria, minimum requirements have been identified and these would need to be met to be certified. We work with you to identify your organisation’s readiness to be certified and provide guidance on what your workplace can do to work towards being a family friendly workplace.
In order to apply to be certified, your organisation must meet a baseline set of criteria.
Does your organisation have:
- A framework to enable flexible working?
- A paid parental leave policy?
- A carer’s and wellbeing policy or framework to enable the combining of work and life commitments?
- Support for leaders so they can enable organisational policies and frameworks?
- A way of gaining employee feedback or measuring utilisation of organisational policies?
- 100+ employees or turnover of more than $2m?
If you answered yes to all of the above, your organisation may be eligible to apply for certification.

Yes, certification fees start from $2,000 annually.
Depending on your size of organisation and if it has meet the minimum criteria, your organisation will have a pathway to certify via our Employer Member Advisory Service.

There is NO COST for the free benchmarking assessment to assess your certification readiness.
Once certified, your organisation will receive a recognition badge. Your certification will remain valid for 24 months, however, after 12 months you will be asked to submit an update and show progress on your work + family action plan in order to maintain the certification for another 12 months. Fees for certification are paid annually.
The average time to complete the survey is 60 minutes. We advise that a relevant People and Culture / HR Lead with access to the organisation’s HR policies and practices is the best person to complete the survey. As part of the survey, we will ask you to share employee stories and examples of your policies in action.
The survey results will be assessed by one of our senior consultants, using standardised tools for evaluation. The results will be tabled in a report, and the consultant who assessed your survey will debrief with you and discuss each categories strengths and areas for improvement, connecting you with industry professionals and resources. No individual data will be publicised.
Yes. The Family Inclusive Certification for SME’s is now available. For employers with under 200 employees certification costs from $2000 + GST annually.

Yes! Upon certification you will be provided with a badge and brand guidelines for internal and external use so that you can share the achievement with your people and inspire other organisations to follow your lead in being a family inclusive workplace.
Yes, we see this as a partnership with your organisation. You will be supported to create an Action Plan, and to access the advice, services and products you may seek to implement to support your Action Plan.
